2023 Standardized tests for English Language Learners

Our students from 5th, 7th and 9th grades are going to be taking the Standardized Tests for English Language Learners: MOVERS, KET and PET. The tests are written around familiar topics and focus on the skills needed to communicate effectively in English. The three exams test all four English language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking.  These tests are also aimed to evaluate the bilingual teaching and learning process.

MOVERS: 5th graders

A1 Movers is the second of three Cambridge English Qualifications designed for young learners. These tests introduce children to everyday written and spoken English and are an excellent way for them to gain confidence and improve their English.

KET: 7th graders

A2 Key, formerly known as Cambridge English: Key (KET), is one of the Cambridge English Qualifications. This basic-level qualification is a great exam to take if you're new to learning English and it is a proof of your ability to use English to communicate in simple situations.

PET: 9th graders

B1 Preliminary, formerly known as Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET), is one of the four Cambridge English Qualifications. It is the English language exam that shows you have mastered the basics of English and now have practical language skills for everyday use. This exam is the logical step in your language learning journey between A2 and B2.

At DAP school, these Institutional tests are taken in the second semester of each year.  English teachers, both morning and afternoon shift, play an important role in the organization of all the logistics for the tests. They are also in charge of doing the speaking part.
