First meeting of Bilingual Education Model Schools at DAP
The first meeting of bilingual leaders took place on April 19th at Débora Arango Pérez School. This day 22 leaders from BEM schools, Gisell Mora and Catalina Mora standing for our institution, our principal Jenny Hernández, Angela María Cubillos, the Director of Science, Technology and Educational Means, and the Academic Team from the Bilingual District Plan gathered in order to keep on strengthening the bilingual education model in public schools. The director acknowledged the importance of this net for bilingualism in Bogotá and how this model has a multitude of personal benefits for all students.
The visitors had the opportunity to have a school tour in which they could see all second language environment and the rooms organization for the implementation of our bilingual program. Additionally, leaders had a training on teamwork and had the opportunity to update information related to the Bilingual Education Model Schools. Finally, leaders and the BDP team planned some specific actions for the net and the upcoming events that will be carried out this year.
It is important to highlight that all visitors were amazed and motivated when they saw by themselves our Bilingual Program and they thank the school for inviting them to learn about us, the strategies, and the achievements we have had regarding second language acquisition and the Additive Bilingual Education Model we have implemented through the years.
